Diversity Training in the Workplace


CMI trainers have spent most of their professional and personal lives committed to enhancing cultural diversity, of all forms, in the workplace. As more and more businesses are becoming vastly diverse, CMI has developed a programming model for small and large businesses who are interested in enhancing their staffs understanding of race, cultural awareness, sexism, and homophobia. Participants leave CMI diversity training programs with skills that they can apply to the working world, which can assist in furthering business productivity.

CMI will provide you organization with a training session(s) on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion. The training curriculum will provide participants with the necessary awareness, content knowledge, and skills to help foster staff development and mutual respect when exploring issues of diversity. These aspects include, but are not limited to:

  • Content knowledge regarding issues of discrimination and privilege, as well as the applicable terminology.
  • Critical intrapersonal and interpersonal skills (e.g. self-awareness, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and empathy) for working effectively with diverse groups.
  • Participation in experiential activities that enhance self-knowledge, team-building and diversity awareness.
  • Understanding the importance of race and culture in the United States.
  • Learning and enhancing skills related to program development, facilitation, and ongoing management.
